Charlene was  born, married and raised four children on beautiful Brier Island.  In September of 2000 she and her husband moved to the Annapolis Valley.

 

  She is mostly self taught but has had workshops with such notables as Cluny Maher, Graham Baker,Barb Dorey, Heather Beaton and Ray Sanford, to name just a few.  She paints mainly in   oils and acrylics and dabbles in watercolour.  Being from Brier Island,she paints mainly seascapes but also landscapes and especially enjoys barn scenes and old houses as her subjects.

She likes to feel excited about the subjects she paints.  She aspires to make her paintings warm and inviting to the viewer.

 

Charlene has paintings hanging at the Art Shack in Margretsville and Hall’s Harbour during the summer. She has won several awards over the years and recently won first place for an oil painting of a barnyard scene in the Apple Blossom Festival Art Show.
